Sarnies & Relaxing

Kalo lo google "the best coffee in Singapore," lo akan liat nama Sarnies sebagai salah satu hasil pencarian. Sarnies is a little café at Telok Ayer Street, Singapura. Nama 'Sarnies' sebenernya adalah slang untuk sandwich, tapi kafe ini juga menyediakan kopi, menu sarapan kaya granola, bagel, salad, homemade bakery treats, and of course; gourmet sandwiches.

Special: burger kanguru!

Gw pesen flat white with additional 1 sugar. Standard-nya semua kopi disini disajikan tanpa gula.

My pretty flat white

Flat white nya enak! Ya maklum, namanya juga negara tropis 😁 gw dateng kesini bawa laptop (while writing this post), wanting to wind down for a bit.. But strangely, I feel guilty. Pernah ngerasa hal yang sama, engga? Merasa bersalah kalo lagi gak produktif?

Misalnya gw mau baca novel chicklit (my guilty pleasure) atau nonton film pas libur kerja, gw suka merasa uneasy... Even though I earned it. I worked hard, and I deserve to relax on my day off, right?

Not so much.

Saat menghadapi berbagai tanggung jawab atau tuntutan pekerjaan, mempraktekkan teknik relaksasi punya banyak manfaatContemplating about this makes me realize : gw harus berusaha untuk benar-benar menikmati my off-duty time. Agak sedih ya... Pengen santai aja repot banget 🙃 Anyway, berikut ini beberapa cara favorit gw untuk santai:

  • Go for a walk. Do you know it's a privilege to live in a walkable city? 🥲  Terutama di kota yang iklimnya sejuk. Jalan kaki is one of my favorite ways to clear my mind.
  • Meditasi & focus on my breathing. Simpel dan bisa dilakuin kapanpun dan dimanapun. Tarik nafas yang dalam.. Calm your mind... and let go. Lepasin semua perasaan negatif.
  • Listen to chill music. Banyak playlist bagus yang bisa ngebantu kita untuk santai. Pasang earphones, sit back, and just relax.
  • Baca buku. I often lose track of time when I'm reading, jadi ini salah satu kegiatan kesukaan gw kalo lagi pengen nyantai.
I often have to remind myself to take it easy. We don't have to always rank nor compete, kita semua punya jalan masing-masing at our own pace, jadi nikmatin aja prosesnya.. pelan-pelan.
Our status and consumption-driven society has heavily distorted the ideals of success and happiness and it’s up to you to define what they mean for you, in your own life, on your own time. —Cory Finch
So here I am: sitting at a café, drinking a cuppa, and just enjoying the moment ;)

Easy breezy at Sarnies.

Date a Girl Who Travels

The Römer, Altstadt of Frankfurt am Main. 📸 taken by me.

Date a girl who travels, because she will show you that the world is not what you think it is.

Date a girl who travels, because both of you will never run out of topics to talk about — she will tell stories from her trips, and share unexpected things that she has encountered while she was abroad.

Date a girl who travels, because she will shower you with random gifts from random countries. Be it Shiroi Koibito from Japan, rindswurst from Germany, or simply Twinkies from the U.S.A. Each one is a proof that she thinks of you wherever she goes.

Date a girl who travels, because she realizes that time is life's most valuable commodity. She will be present whenever she's with you, because she knows that she will be away again in a blink.

Date a girl who travels, because she is a world citizen. She's open-minded and she loves trying new things.

Date a girl who travels, because she doesn't have the word 'racism' nor 'bigotry' in her dictionary. She respects everyone from all walks of life because she knows everyone is fighting their own battle. She notices that kindness is a universal language — even more than the lingua franca.

Date a girl who travels, because she chooses to be free instead of trapped in the rut. She took a road less traveled, she is a risk-taker. She tries to be comfortable amidst all pressure.

Date a girl who travels, because she has developed a great planning skill. She makes the most of her time. She is always asking, "What's next?" and she's happiest when she's productive.

Date a girl who travels, because she is more than just a pretty face. She has surmounted a great deal of obstacles to be who she is. She is resilient, and she will teach her children a cornucopia life lessons that she has acquired from her travels.

Date a girl who travels because by now, you should've realized that she is independent and she doesn't need you. She chooses to be with you, she wants to spend time with you, she loves it when you're around — and I swear there ain't a better kind of love.
